A Spring Market Starts 2017’s Rally
2017 continues to surprise, with values of all types of housing moving upwards in March. Houses are up 1% from last month, condos 2.1% up and town-homes up 1.4%. The primary culprit remains low inventory, with the lowest number of new listings in March since 2009. 2016 was such a great year to sell that it seems like anyone who was considering selling has already done so, leaving a lot of buyers who missed out in the stiff competition of 2016 still scrambling to get into the market now. At this stage it is very difficult to anticipate when demand will level off with supply, so we will be keeping a close eye on the numbers as well as the energy at our open-houses to try and keep ahead of changes.
